Old Fashioned Molasses Popcorn Balls 4 Quarts Popped
Corn (with hard kernels removed)
3/4 Cups
Sugar
2 Tablespoons
Butter
2 Cups
Molasses
1/2 Teaspoon
Salt
1 Teaspoon Baking
Soda
Boil the molasses, sugar, butter, and salt, stirring
occasionally until mixture forms hard ball in cold water. I boiled mine to about
250 degrees on a candy thrmometer. Remove from heat, add baking soda and mix
well.
Pour over popped corn, stirring so that each kernel is
coated. Very quickly form into a ball with well-buttered hands. I put plastic
baggies on my hands and then sprayed them with cooking spray oil.Place the
formed balls on wax paper to set. I then wrapped mine in plastic wrap.
